Four Channel Island athletes are in contention to be named the Betway Channel Islands Sports Personality 2015. Guernsey duo Chris Simpson and Alice Loveridge are joined by Jersey pair Jonty Jenner and Serena Guthrie. It is the first time Loveridge and Jenner have been up for the main award. Guthrie is in contention for the third time while it is Simpson’s second appearance in the final four. Netballer Guthrie enjoyed another excellent twelve months on the world stage - she was named as Rookie of the Year in her first season with Northern Mystics in the ANZ Championship before helping England to a bronze medal at the 2015 World Cup.

But with the crowd roaring in support Jets drew the second quarter as Serena Guthrie played her first match for the side. Jacy Brown made some fantastic interceptions across the court in the C position giving her side chances which shooters Rebecca Forrest and Lynsey Pitman took. In her first start for the side Forrest did well to hold her very tall GK to create space in the shooting circle. The visitors were ahead at times against unbeaten League Leaders Tameside, and winning the first and last quarters. However, they just missed out on the win with a slower 3rd quarter to last year's runners up with the match finishing 55 v 51 but achieved an extra bonus point. "The girls played out of their socks in the first half...it was phenomenal" said Coach Linda Andrews. "Our passing and moving was good, our errors were minimal and the shooters were on fire - we gave them a bit of a shock I think. But they upped the ante in the third quarter, after being 29 v 27 down at half-time, and we lost momentum." Despite regrouping to win the last quarter it wasn't enough to make up for the 3rd quarter deficit.
